Webb Residence [2008]

This house is a hybrid timberframe. The south wall is timber and supports the roof trusses, while the north wall is framed using what we call box studs. These are a plywood, insulation and 2 x 4 sandwich stud that is the same depth as the strawbales (18” in this case). The central part of the timberframe features Japanese brace live edge timbers. Two of these are ash and the center one cherry.

We also built the stairs and handrail for this house.

Strawbale walls were completed by Camel's Back Construction
